Benefits of acupressure

The main goal of acupressure is to bring the body back into its natural balance and let nature continue its course.
The primary function of acupressure is healing, relaxation, and the continuous flow of energy throughout the body.

Benefits of acupressure:

  • relieves pain
  • relieves stress and tension
  • reduces blood pressure
  • increases energy
  • increases circulation
  • enables the body to relax deeply
  • can help reduce labour pains
  • treats many specific disorders and illnesses (e.g. digestive disorders including diarrhea and constipation, nausea, neck pain, shoulder and back pain, arthritis, hip dysplasia, joint pain, muscles aches)
  • relieves anxiety
  • balances the body
  • prevention of disease

Although acupressure is not a substitute for medical care, it is often an appropriate complementary treatment.
It can, for instance, accelerate the healing of a broken bone (once it has been set), or aid a cancer patient by helping to alleviate some of the associated pain or give relief in arthritis or dysplasia cases.

Acupressure and chiropractic treatment:

Together those two modalities are very effective as with relaxing and toning of the back muscles, acupressure makes the spinal adjustments easier and therefore more effective with longer lasting results.
In fact, the two therapies were originally practiced together in ancient China.

Acupressure and Psychotherapy:

Patients can derive benefits from acupressure by using it to heighten their body awareness and better deal with stress.
